Expectations for Bryson Williams in 2020-21

The Miners are hoping they can live up to the lofty expectations they have this season. While the media may not have as high of expectations this year. Last year as mentioned UTEP struggled at points in the year and they struggled in games they should have won. Players transferred and the chemistry problems were confirmed. The players that are currently on campus were the players who seemed to completely buy into the philosophies of coach Terry and are hoping to be the players who get UTEP back to the NCAA tournament.

Williams comes in as one of the top three players in the conference and one of the favorites for Conference Player of the Year. Especially if he has yet to reach his full potential, which was suggested earlier. Don’t be surprised if the forward averages close to a double-double again however this season he may average close to 20 points per game and around 10 rebounds. Williams will get to 1,000 points and over 500 rebounds as a miner. That is extraordinary especially in only two seasons.

Coach Terry has a year of experience with this group and returns good pieces around his star this season. The Miners are set up to have a great season and return to the NCAA tournament. Williams is going to be on the floor with fellow transfer and guard Souley Boum and newly eligible guard Keonte Kennedy. That is going to be one of the best potential trios in the Conference USA.

Heading into the season the Miners have a lot of experience but not many of those players produced at a high-level last year. With a year in the system and better chemistry that will change this year.
