Possible NCAA Basketball option for Reggie Chaney – Iowa State Cyclones

The Cyclones got themselves a pair of solid guard transfer pickups so far this offseason in Jalen Coleman-Lands and Tyler Harris. But with several players likely to be gone after next year, this team is still in desperate need of more talent in they want to get out of the bottom of the Big 12.
With Solomon Young graduating after 2020-21, that leaves just George Conditt IV and incoming four-star center Xavier Foster to make up Iowa State’s frontcourt for the following year.

Essentially, this team will be back in the portal a year from now looking for more forwards and could easily strikeout. Chaney would be better than many other options and unlike at Arkansas, he wouldn’t struggle to get on the court.

Possible NCAA Basketball option for Reggie Chaney – Maryland Terrapins

There isn’t a power conference program with bigger roster problems than Maryland, who still only has 10 players on scholarship after missing out on Utah transfer Both Gach to Minnesota. They’ve lost a ton of players to the portal this offseason and have only landed grad transfer forward Galin Smith and Boston College combo forward Jairus Hamilton.

With plenty of frontcourt room available, there’s no reason why the Terrapins shouldn’t target Chaney. He can play alongside Hamilton at the four or five-spot and would be an upgrade over Donta Scott. Having already landed four-star class of 2021 prospects Ike Cornish and power forward Julian Reese, Maryland looks to have an impressive incoming group for the year after. If they can’t help the roster they have now, they might as well make a play for 2021-22.
