NCAA Basketball finalist for Andrew Nembhard – USC Trojans

USC has been one of the leaders for Nembhard since the guard announced he’d be in the transfer portal. The Trojans were one of the finalists for Nembhard back when the guard was at Montverde Academy along with Gonzaga, Ohio State, and Florida so they being included on his final list again says a lot.

Nembhard is familiar with the program and had previously taken an in-person visit to USC when he was in high school, that previous visit may end up being a huge advantage for USC. Nembhard has met with Andy Enfield in person, if they built any kind of relationship during recruiting it could be a dealbreaker for the Trojans.

The Trojans took a big hit at the point guard spot this spring with Elijah Weaver transferring to the University of Dayton. He was expected to play a big role moving forward but with the addition of Santa Clara graduate transfer Tahj Eaddy and Ethan Anderson returning they’ll be alright with their backcourt in 2020.

USC would really benefit with Nembhard in 2021 with an experienced point guard, as of right now the Trojans don’t have a point guard coming in from the three guys that have committed so far in that 2021 class. USC is an attractive destination, he has the potential to thrive under Enfield and be in the Las Angeles spotlight.
