Potential NCAA Basketball option for Blake Hinson – Florida Gators

Losing Andrew Nembhard to the transfer portal is a big blow for the Gators but as long as Tre Mann comes back at point guard, they should be good to go. But they’ll need to make sure that they’re good for the 2021-22 campaign. Wings Scottie Lewis and Keyontae Johnson are very likely leaving after next season to the NBA Draft and with five-star forward Trey Patterson going to Villanova now, the team will be in play for another forward in the next class.

Class of 2021 wing Kowacie Reeves, Jr. is a quality pickup but he’s more of a guard/wing. Michigan transfer forward Colin Castleton can play at the five-spot but there could be a hole that’ll need to be addressed. Hinson plays similarly to Johnson and could slide right in to replace him and it would be an interesting inter-conference transfer situation.

Potential NCAA Basketball option for Blake Hinson – Illinois Illini

There’s a ton of talk about the fates of both Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn this offseason but something else that happened was wing Alan Griffin transferring to Syracuse. That opens up a major positional hole that someone like Hinson could easily fill. He’s from the region so the Illini is a realistic possibility.

The Illini is currently in play for a number of top-50 prospects in the 2021 recruiting class, having already landed 6’5 shooting guard Luke Goode. Hinson’s ability to rebound and provide defense at multiple positions will help Illinois’ roster, regardless of what the roster may look like.
