Potential NCAA Basketball option for Blake Hinson – Missouri Tigers

Among what would be considered “hometown” options for Hinson, both Kansas and Missouri would be potential candidates. The Tigers would be a great destination for the Rebel forward, likely having to deal with losing most of their top players (Jeremiah Tilmon, Mark Smith, and Dru Smith) after next year. Even though this is another inter-conference transfer, Hinson would find plenty of playing time and could possibly even get a waiver, if he can argue that he was “ran off” the roster.

If he can play next season, the Tigers would be a great landing spot. However, the 2021-22 roster doesn’t look very alluring for a transfer who’ll have plenty of options that are much more likely to make the NCAA Tournament. It’s rare for an inter-conference transfer to occur but even rarer for a player to join a team perceived to be a “downgrade”.

Potential NCAA Basketball option for Blake Hinson – Oregon Ducks

A team that recently has loved to use the transfer portal is the Oregon Ducks, who landed two more players in Aaron Estrada (Saint Peter’s) and Amauri Hardy (UNLV). That’s added to the now-eligible sit-out transfers in Eric Williams Jr. (Duquesne) and Eugene Omoruyi (Rutgers).

When it comes to the roster, only Williams is capable of playing at the three-spot, while the Omoruyi is only going to be around for a year. Hinson would be a nice piece to have ready for the 2021-22 season and can play in head coach Dana Altman’s offense, providing scoring and versatility in the frontcourt.
