Potential NCAA Basketball option for Blake Hinson – TCU Horned Frogs

With star guard/wing Desmond Bane having graduated, there is a ton of production that needs to be replaced going forward. Besides rising juniors Kevin Samuel and RJ Nembhard, the rest of the roster is filled with question marks. That includes Kevin Easley, a 6’7 transfer forward who averaged 14.2 ppg and 6.7 rpg as a freshman from Chatanooga.

Counting on him to be a high-impact player is risky, coming from a mid-major program. Hinson, coming from the SEC, is a safer bet, even if he himself has to sit out a season. After building the Horned Frogs into an NCAA Tournament team, Coach Jamie Dixon is in danger of seeing the team slide back towards the bottom of the Big 12. Adding a capable double-digit scorer in Hinson would be a nice move to keep TCU in contention.

Potential NCAA Basketball option for Blake Hinson – USC Trojans

No high-major program has been more after transfers this offseason than USC, who landed five. That includes notable grad transfers, Isaiah White, Tahj Eaddy and Chevez Goodwin, as well as 6’8 guard Drew Peterson. All of them are mid-majors, so it’s unknown what kind of production they’ll give once on the court with the Trojans.

It’s clear that this team is trying to maximize their lone season with five-star power forward Evan Mobley with these senior transfers and have already spent time on the 2021 recruiting class, with three early commits. In order to provide some roster balance and add another veteran piece for the 2021-22 campaign, it would be wise for USC to add another sit-out transfer with high-major experience. Right now, Hinson would fit that perfectly.
