Rhode Island Basketball newcomer – Norance “Tres” Berry

Guard | 6-foot-4 | 185 lbs. | 3-Star-Recruit, Scotland, PA

Three-star guard, Tres Berry announced a commitment to the Rams on his Instagram page. The 6-foot-4 shooter also claimed offers from Tennessee, Auburn, West Virginia, St. Bonnaventure, Toledo, Tulsa, and more.

Prior to his high school career, his friends gave him the nickname of Tres which carried over into high school.

Berry ran with the Scotland Campus in Pennsylvania. He played his grassroots season with the BMaze Elite program which was founded by former Tennessee star, Bobby Maze.  Bobby Maze is also a native of Washington, D.C., and a connection for David Cox to recruit from. Berry also played for the DC Blue Devils, the same organization that produced Jeff Dowtin.

Berry’s teammate, Abou Ousmane originally committed to the University of Rhode Island, however, he has de-committed and has decided to play for North Texas.

Tres committed to the University of Rhode Island in April. He made his decision after visiting the campus in January where he was invited to watch the Rams take on VCU.

The Rams have actively been recruiting guards all offseason to replace Jeff Dowtin and Tyrese Martin. Although the Rams have recruited heavily through specific programs and organizations, they have also taken advantage of the NCAA transfer portal.
