Auburn Tigers

The Tigers have their own five-star point guard coming in for the upcoming season in Sharife Cooper, who many consider a “one and done” college prospect. They’ll certainly need a replacement and Davison, who lives not too far away in the state, could be an ideal match. The 2021 point guard would have a major advantage over Cooper in that there aren’t any rising seniors on Auburn’s roster for 2021-22, with many players gaining a year of experience.

The Tigers are also targeting other five-star recruits in the 2021 class, including big man Moussa Diabaté. In terms of having a major role in the offense and huge impact as a freshman, Auburn offers Davison that more than almost any other program in the running. For a ball-dominant guard like this, this could be a real fit that checks all the possible boxes, including staying close to home.

Florida Gators

The point guard position has opened up with Andrew Nembhard recently electing to transfer to Gonzaga. That leaves Tre Mann, who was a former five-star recruit out of high school himself. He averaged 5.3 ppg off the bench as a freshman and has flirted with the NBA Draft this offseason. I don’t believe that he’ll have a major impact on Davison’s potential move to Florida because he’ll either break out and enter the 2021 NBA Draft or not improve to the point where the Gators will have to upgrade at that spot anyway.

The biggest thing Davison will have to consider is how he’ll fit in the offense for Florida. They have run one of the slower-paced systems, which seemed to have played a part in Nembhard leaving. It could be a better fit for this prospect but there are coaches on this list where there aren’t any concerns. Nembhard’s move could be a negative for someone like Davison in this process.
