Alabama Crimson Tide

Kira Lewis is a shining example of what a point guard can do in a Nate Oats’ offense, leading the Tide this past season with 18.5 ppg. Alabama’s style of play and pace is perfect for Davison, who’ll also be in the need for more offense for 2021-22. Star sophomore guard Jaden Shackelford could very well go pro, while seniors John Petty and Herb Jones will be graduating.

As one of the two local options to consider, expect Alabama to be one of the 3-4 true contenders to land Davison. The starting point guard for next season could be Villanova sit-out transfer Jahvon Quinerly, so that may be something to consider if the five-star point guard wants to come in and start right away. But Coach Oats is capable of playing with multiple ball-handlers on the court and the offense still not miss a beat.

Arkansas Razorbacks

With All-SEC guard Mason Jones off to the NBA Draft, the Razorbacks are looking at Northern Kentucky grad transfer Jalen Tate to be a stop-gap starter for next season at the point guard position. He’ll be backed up by incoming four-star recruits, KK Robinson and Davonte Davis. If the mid-major transfer struggles, Robinson could very well be a starter and eventual key piece for the team.

It’s not surprising that Arkansas is in the mix for Davison, as they’re also in the running for many other top-tier prospects and transfers. But this is a scenario where the Hogs will have to battle either the local competition, as well as a couple of others with reported clear links to the prospect. Of all the targets for this team in the next year, I doubt that they’ll make a true run at Davison to be a true contender in the process.
