Maryland Terrapins

If you’ve followed Busting Brackets transfer talk this offseason, this would be the 100th frontcourt player the Terrapins should target. They have landed Alabama grad transfer center Galin Smith and Boston College combo forward Jairus Hamilton (will need a waiver to play) but due to the massive exodus of players on the roster, the team still has three total scholarships available to use.

Assuming Hamilton doesn’t play, the frontcourt rotation consists of Donta Scott, Chol Marial, and Galin Smith. Quite frankly, Paulicap is better than any of them right now and could absolutely be a starting player on a Maryland squad that already has great guard play. The Terps have missed out on transfers this offseason but could add a quality rotation piece to shore up a current clear weakness.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Irish did land talented Santa Clara transfer Trey Wertz this offseason but the perimeter isn’t the biggest weakness on the roster right now. It’s in the frontcourt, having to replace leading scorer, rebounder, and All-ACC big man graduate John Mooney. Returning is forwards Juwan Durham and Nate Laszewski, along with three-star newcomers Matt Zona and Elijah Taylor.

For a team who was projected to miss the Big Dance before the season was canceled and will have to replace their top two leading scorers, Notre Dame hasn’t landed any eligible talent that gives an impression that they’ll be any better in 2020-21. Just to add depth in an ACC that’ll once again be filled with talented frontcourt weapons, adding Paulicap would be a nice pickup in case Laszewski doesn’t have that breakout campaign the team will surely need.
