12. Michigan Wolverines: Athletic Director – Warde Manuel

Men’s team: Head Coach Juwan Howard 19-12 overall / 10-10 Big Ten

Three losses in their final four games of the 2019-20 season were enough to bump Michigan Basketball out of the Associated Press’ final Top 25 Poll. The Wolverines had peaked as the fourth-ranked team on Dec. 02, 2019, but would eventually settle for finishing in the ninth position in the Big Ten. At the start of the 2020-21 season, Coach Juwan Howard will be welcoming the number one ranked Big Ten recruitment class to Ann Arbor.

Coach Howard and the Wolverines are hoping 7’2 Hunter Dickinson and can replace Jon Teske (11.6 ppg, 6.7 rpg) and four-star Zeb Jackson can bolster the backcourt with the loss of Zavier Simpson (12.9 ppg, 7.9 apg). Expectation can only grow for the Wolverines when Isaiah Livers makes his decision on if he wants to stay in the draft as a projected late second-round selection at best.

Women’s team: Head Coach Kim Barnes Arico 19-10 overall / 10-8 Big Ten

A significant part of the Wolverines’ sixty-third highest-scoring offense in the nation will be departing with the graduation of Kayla Robbins (11.6 ppg) and Akienreh Johnson (10.7 ppg, 6.5 rpg). The offensive responsibility will continue to be placed on junior forward Naz Hillmon (17.4 ppg, 8.7 rpg)  who was second in Big Ten scoring along with fellow junior Amy Dilk (11.6 ppg,4.5 apg).

Joining the Wolverines is the No. 30 recruit, 6’2 guard Cameron Williams from Whitney Young High School in Illinois. With fellow starter and top three-point threat Hailey Brown also returning, the Wolverines will not only begin the pre-season ranked but also bolster the men’s team in the cumulative rankings.
