NCAA Basketball: Ranking combine men/women programs for 2020-21

11. Arkansas Razorbacks: Athletic Director – Hunter Yurachek

Men’s team: Head Coach Eric Musselman 20-12 overall / 7-11 SEC

After a tenth-place finish in the SEC, the Arkansas Men’s basketball team would have a lot of work ahead of them if they were to solely depend upon themselves to almost crack the top ten. With the graduation of Jimmy Whitt (14 ppg, 5.1 rpg) and leading scorer Mason Jones (22 ppg,, 5,5 rpg) remaining in the draft, the Razorbacks will need players to step up if they hope to maintain the conferences fifth-best offensive output.

With Isaiah Joe not currently projected to be drafted, his return along with the breakout season Desi Sills is capable of having the Razorbacks will still improve. Especially when you add the nation’s eighth-ranked freshman class which consists of four, four-star recruits, highlighted by number forty, Moses Moody. Plus, the immediate addition of transfers Jalen Smith (15.5 ppg, 10.5 rpg), Jalen Tate (13.9 ppg), and Vance Jackson (11.1 ppg), the men’s team is set-up to do their part.

Women’s team: Head Coach Mike Neighbours 24-8 overall / 10-6 SEC

A third-place finish in the SEC had the women’s Arkansas team in position for at least a four seed in the tournament. The 2020-21 season will see Coach Neighbours attempt to return to that glory with the Razorbacks. A return to that glory begins with the return of a pair of redshirt senior guards in Chelsea Dungee (19.9 ppg) and Amber Ramirez (14.7 ppg).

The impact of losing 5’8 Alexis Tolefree (16.3 ppg) will be lessened by No. 38 recruit 6’0 Elauna Eaton, as well the graduate transfer Destiny Slocum who led Oregon State in scoring and assists. The Razorbacks may never have been ranked better than 20 in the AP Poll, but were ranked for the first 15 weeks and made it to the SEC semi-final.
