4. Arizona State Sun Devils

As long as either Remy Martin or Alonzo Verge Jr. returns for their senior season, the Sun Devils will be just fine at the point guard position. And with Portland State transfer Holland Woods sitting out, the team will have a veteran starting PG for 2021-22. But they’ll need a new starter and head coach Bobby Hurley and his outstanding history of developing perimeter talent, it’s understandable why they’ll be in the picture for Collins.

The only concern in this scenario is that Collins isn’t the only top-100 point guard Arizona State is in the mix for. Both Tyrese Hunter and Zaon Collins have recently announced updated lists, with the Sun Devils making both of them. If the other Collins picks Arizona State, that would be tough for this recruit to overcome since they both play similar games. So for now, the Sun Devils are propped in the middle until other recruiting developments occur.

3. Auburn Tigers

Head coach Bruce Pearl is another who has a great history with guards, most recently excelling with Samir Doughty, J’Von McCormick, Bryce Brown, and Jared Harper. He now gets an even more talented player to work with in Sharife Cooper, a five-star point guard recruit who is likely going to be around for 1-2 years max.

The point guard position could be wide open in 2021-22, particularly if five-star prospect JD Davison doesn’t pick the Tigers among his own list of 10. Collins could very well start out the gate and join a roster who’ll have much more experience since the current roster is set to be one of the youngest in the country overall after losing so many seniors.
