NCAA Basketball: Ranking 2021 4-Star G James White’s top 12 schools
By Ian Mumm
1. Florida State Seminoles
Florida State continues to draw in elite talent from across the nation. Leonard Hamilton’s results on the court are speaking for itself, but the corresponding reputation as a great developmental coach has only increased the number of interested recruits for the Noles. Hamilton has produced eight NBA draft picks, including likely 2020 selections Devin Vassell and Patrick Williams, with three of those entering the program outside of the class’ top-100 players.
These players have excelled rebounding the ball in Hamilton’s system, in addition to challenging for the team lead in scoring. White already has the tools to succeed offensively from the get-go, but his length affords strong production from him on the glass. This particular area of his game will result in increased minutes in his freshman season with the team.
Florida State has used balanced scoring on its way to success in recent years and that doesn’t look to change anytime soon. White won’t feel the pressure to lead the team in his first season, but can comfortably adjust to the college game and emerge within the team’s ranks at his own pace.
His consistency shooting the ball from all over the floor will significantly help maintain the quality of the Seminoles program on the court. Combined with some of 2021’s top available talents, including Jalen Warley and Matthew Cleveland, this class could be huge.
