Georgetown Hoyas

Although he has a different skillset from Davis, Omer Yurtseven’s strong past season with the Hoyas is an indication of former NBA star and current head coach Patrick Ewing an ability to develop frontcourt players. For someone like Davis, that’s a very alluring talking point that could make Georgetown a contender.

The primary concern would be whether or not Davis can play together with Qudus Wahab, who averaged 5.5 ppg and 4.3 rpg as a freshman and is one of the lone key returning players on the roster. He’s likely to start whether Davis gets a waiver or not and if the former Crimson Tide player can’t play at the power forward position, it could be hard to see this being a great fit.

Mississippi State Bulldogs

With star forward Reggie Perry off to the NBA, the Bulldogs frontcourt is pretty thin heading into next season. Western Kentucky transfer Tolu Smith will be a forward candidate while rising senior Abdul Ado (5.7 ppg and 6.7 rpg) will be around for one more year.

If Davis is willing to sit out a season, this could be a great landing spot, just simply waiting for the senior to graduate. His commitment would also allow Mississippi State not to have to worry about finding a center in the 2021 class, allowing the transfer to avoid getting over-recruited again. And 1-2 yearly chances at beating his former team is a fun selling point also.
