Expectations for Manny Camper in 2020-21

While the MAAC is always a competitive conference and for the better part of the last decade, the Iona Gaels have dominated the league. Iona is going to be in good hands with Rick Pitino, but Siena is going to be hoping for a changing of the guard and hoping to start a semi-dynasty of their own. The Saints have a great roster with a lot of young talent, that should lead to their sustainable success for a long time.

Camper, as mentioned had his breakout last year but he was still somewhat of an afterthought nationally. It was the Pickett and Elijah Burns show. This year due to Camper being the best rebounder in the league and him being the best option behind Pickett now he is going to get his due. Burns has graduated and another star Don Carey has transferred so it is now the Pickett and Camper show. Camper was rewarded last year with first-team All-MAAC honors. Camper is going to use the draft process to get the valuable feedback needed to truly take his game to the next level.

One thing that needs to be noted is that Camper has yet to decide if he is returning to college yet. He didn’t hire an agent and is not projected to be drafted in the drafts two rounds. However, he may decide to play in Europe thereby ending his college career. I believe he will come back and take one final victory lap in Loudonville and try to help get his team back to the NCAA tournament.

The Saints are going to be a team to be reckoned with in the MAAC and on the national college basketball landscape if Camper decides to come back.
