16. Both Gach – Utah to Minnesota

2019-20 stats: 10.7 ppg and 2.9 apg

One of the best pure athletes in all of college basketball, Gach is very likely to receive a waiver after going back home to the state of Minnesota. He showed signs of NBA potential this past season, including a triple-double against Mississippi Valley State and 28 points in an overtime win over Colorado. Gach still needs work on his shooting and overall consistency but he serves as a useful starter in a power conference.

Assuming star guard Marcus Carr does return for the Gophers and another transfer gets a waiver (more on him later), Minnesota could have one of the best starting lineups in the country. Western Michigan grad transfer Brandon Johnson is an ideal power forward while shooting guard Gabe Kalscheur is one of the best three-point shooters in the country. He and Gach would work well with one another on the perimeter.

15. LJ Figueroa – St. John’s to Oregon

2019-20 stats: 14.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg

The Red Storm’s leading scorer is traveling all the way across the country to the Ducks, who continues to add transfers even if it doesn’t make much sense. Figueroa is a 6’6 wing who can play and defend multiple positions, while showing the ability to be a high volume scorer, with multiple games of 25+ points.

Oregon already has transfers Eric Williams Jr. and Amauri Hardy in the fold, along with returning double-digit scoring senior Chris Duarte. Figueroa would absolutely find a role and potentially even start but he’s a near carbon copy of Duarte with less consistency. I’d argue that it would be best for him to sit out a season, but it’s understandable that he doesn’t want to slow down the professional clock.
