Memphis Tigers

After struggling to land anyone during the regular season, head coach Penny Hardaway has done a great job this offseason in acquiring talent, including transfers Landers Nolley and Deandre Williams, as well as five-star center prospect Moussa Cisse. Add them to the returning core of Tigers and you have a preseason top-25 squad for the upcoming season.

The concern for someone like Nesbitt would be due to a potential influx of talent just as, if not better than top-100 good. Memphis already landed top-100 wing Joshua Minott in the same class and has already shown a desire to land some of the best transfers available. This recruit could find himself a role but if the right five-star recruit picks the Tigers, Nesbitt could find himself outside of the rotation.

Nebraska Cornhuskers

The ultra-tough rebuilding job for head coach Fred Hoiberg is starting over, with five of the team’s top six scorers having left t program this offseason in one way or another. There is once again a waver of newcomers, including from the Junior College level and traditional transfers. That includes junior wings Lat Mayen and Shamiel Stevenson, players Nesbitt would have to compete for playing time with… if those two players stick around next offseason.

The big selling point Nebraska will have for Nesbitt is that he can be a focal point of the team’s offense and can play in the Big Ten, which is where he’s from in Missouri even though the top programs in that state are from the Atlantic 10 and SEC.

The obvious issue is that the recruit would have to settle for a lot of future losses, barring someone on the roster becoming a star and elevating the program. Coach Hoiberg needs a star commitment but will have to win a few more games in order to become a legit threat for a non-transfer.
