Atlantic 10 – Nick Sherod (Richmond Spiders)

Entering his redshirt senior season there is not much else that Sherod can still accomplish from a shooting standpoint. He is one of the best shooters in the Atlantic 10 and Richmond history. Last season in his return from an ACL injury he led the league and finished in the top 10 nationally in three-point shooting percentage at 43.8 percent. The guard made a total of 78 triples and that was the sixth-most in a season in Spider history.

Even though the guard has already accomplished a lot he has a chance with another good year to put himself at the top of the career record books at Richmond. Sherod is near the top of the record books in the Atlantic 10, 83 makes away from the all-time career mark. The 83 made three-pointers would place him third all-time in the individual ranks for a season. The guard is hoping to get Richmond back to the NCAA tournament for the first time since the 2010-2011 season.

Atlantic Sun – Rob Perry (Stetson Hatters)

Perry is one of the players whose development is going to be interesting to watch. He is already one of the best overall players in the Atlantic Sun and is far and away the best shooter in the Atlantic Sun and is turning into one of the best unknown players in the country. Perry enters his sophomore year as one of the more feared shooters and scorers in the conference and before the season is over it is going to be the in the country.

An article was written about Perry this year that outlined his impact on the Hatters. He shot 43% from deep a year ago which led the conference and made 69 threes which are a school record for a freshman. Perry is dangerous not only from deep and is always going to have the ball in his hands he is a pure scorer and a fantastic shooter.

Big 12 – Ferron Flavors Jr. (Oklahoma State Cowboys)

The senior guard transferred into Oklahoma State from the WAC and Cal Baptist and started his career at Fairfield. Even though he didn’t play in the Big 12 last year, the guard is one of the best 25 shooters in the entire country. Everywhere Flavors has played he has put up great shooting numbers. The guard has the second most three-point makes in a season in Fairfield school history.

Last season while at Cal Baptist he led the WAC in both three-point makes and percentage. He shot 44% from deep last year and 42% overall from the field. That was good enough for 16th overall in the country.

Flavors Jr. is a three-point specialist and there was a long list of suitors for the shooter when he decided to transfer from Cal Baptist. The 6’3 guard is going to help Oklahoma State win a lot of games with his shooting, it’s just a shame he will never have a chance to make the NCAA tournament.
