Illinois Illini

Even though he’s leaving for Arizona, Illinois represents the “hometown” option for Weston. He would reunite with former Morgan Park teammate Adam Miller, ranked in the top-35 overall as a shooting guard. This would push Weston to play on at the 3-spot but that actually works out for a team who recently lost Alan Griffin to Syracuse and needs to find a true wing in the future.

After bringing back both Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn for another season, Illinois needs to build off what should be a quality season with a talented recruiting class. They already have three-star sharpshooter Luke Goode committed and need to land one of the state’s top-tier prospects in the coming months. Could Weston be that guy?

Michigan Wolverines

Three early commitments in the 2021 class already have the Wolverines in a great future position, including landing combo guard Kobe Butkin and fellow four-star wing Isaiah Barnes. With Isaiah Livers as a rising senior and wing Franz Wagner possibly leaving after next season, there’s a reasonable pathway to a rotation spot for Weston at Michigan. That’ll be even more clear if senior transfer Chaundee Brown gets a waiver to play in 2020-21 as well.

Michigan clearly has a desire for a top-10 recruiting class, still with a few roster spots available after next season. They very well could land top-100 point guard Frankie Collins this week, bolstering a completely revamped perimeter. With top-60 off-guard Zeb Jackson already on board, the only concern would be Weston potentially getting lost among all of these new guards, especially if the Wolverines decide to add another transfer wing next offseason to add experience.
