Baylor Bears – Will Tristan Clark return to form?

When you are the presumptive No. 1 or No. 2 team in the country, there aren’t a lot of questions to be answered. That may be the case for the Baylor Bears, but there are still questions. Scott Drew and his team were one of the big winners at the NBA draft deadline when all three of their testers, Jared Butler, MaCio Teague, and Mark Vital decided to return to Waco for another year.

So while one of the best defensive teams in the country returns intact, how can they get better? By having one of the athletic players on their roster return to the form he showed as a sophomore.

In 2018-19, Tristan Clark was in the midst of a breakout season, averaging over 14 points, six rebounds, and 2.4 blocks in 14 games, before his season ended with a knee injury. The 6’10 245lb. Clark returned last season, but wasn’t quite the same player, appearing in 22 games and reaching double figures just once and grabbing just 2.4 rebounds in 13 minutes of action, after being a guy that was on the floor for 30 minutes per game the year prior.

Being another year removed from the injury, if Clark can regain some of that sophomore form, the Bears become even more of a team that opponents don’t want to poke.
