Kansas State Wildcats – Can Nijel Pack make an immediate impact?

Last season was a rough one for Bruce Weber and the Kansas State Wildcats, finishing last in the conference, winning just 11 games and just three in the conference. The offense was a big issue, averaging just over 64 points per game and then this summer the roster took a major hit with three seniors gone and six other players deciding to transfer. There were plenty of holes on the roster to fill with not much in the way of offensive power returning to a team that struggled offensively.

Guards Mike McGuirl and DaJuan Gordon are the team’s top returning scorers combining for 13.2 points per game. To that end, the Wildcats’ recruiting class is seven players deep, and it’s one of those players could have the biggest impact on the Kansas State next season, point guard Nijel Pack.

The 5’10 Lawrence Central star in Indianapolis averaged 17 points, four assists, four rebounds, and two steals as a senior. Pack also shot over 40% from the deep during a season where his team went 22-3 losing three times to rival Lawrence North. Kansas State might have another tough season but if Pack can come in and make an immediate impact it will be big for the Wildcats’ road back.
