LSU Tigers

Pros

Another program that has done well with point guards, the Tigers may be in need of a new lead guard if junior starter Javonte Smart goes pro after next season, along with five-star freshman shooting guard Cam Thomas. With top-30 center Jerrell Colbert already and a combo of transfers and underclassmen set to be around for a while, LSU has a better chance to succeed in the SEC with Davison than both Alabama or Auburn.

Cons

Head coach Will Wade and the program is in similar trouble as Kansas with alleged recruiting misconduct, putting them on notice also for the 2022 NCAA Tournament. And as of now, the Tigers still don’t even have a free scholarship left for the 2021 class without someone transferring out or going pro.

Trendon Watford leaving would do the trick but with top-100 freshman point guard Eric Gaines already in the picture, Davison wouldn’t have the keys to LSU’s offense all to himself.

Kansas Jayhawks

Pros

With Marcus Garrett set to graduate and incoming five-star combo guard Bryce Thompson potentially only around for one year, Davison can come in and be the star ball-handler the Jayhawks would badly need. With Devonte Graham, Frank Mason, and Devon Dotson just as recent examples, head coach Bill Self has shown he can take point guards and make them into stars and future NBA players.

Add a near guarantee trip to the NCAA Tournament and a possible Final Four/national title appearance, and it’s hard to pass up being a starter for Kansas Basketball. No team on this list has the prestige as the Jayhawks and resume of great point guards, which makes them one of the favorites to land Davison.

Cons

Even if Thompson would return for another season and four-star class of 2021 guard Tamar Bates decides to join, Davison would still be the clear-cut lead ball-handler. And even after missing out on five-star shooting guard Kendall Brown to Memphis, the Jayhawks would still have a top-10 caliber roster to surround this prospect with.

The concern lies more off the court, with potential sanctions coming from the NCAA regarding alleged recruiting violations on multiple scenarios. Considering what already happened to Oklahoma State and Kansas having even bigger allegations, a postseason ban could very well happen.

With the pandemic delaying trivial things such as this, missing the 2021-22 NCAA Tournament could be the ultimate punishment for the program. Would Davison join the Jayhawks with that dark cloud on them?
