NCAA Basketball: Which top program will land four-star SG D’Marco Dunn?
Clemson Tigers
Although the Tigers lost both Curran Scott and Tevin Mack from last season, they still have a solid core of returning depth to work with, including Al-Amir Dawes, John Newman, and incoming combo guard freshman Joshua Beadle. But considering that none of these players mentioned scored in double figures last season (Clemson was 298th in scoring at 66.5 ppg), there’s a major need for a bucket getter such as Dunn to come in and provide needed offense.
The South Carolina program is fairly close enough to Dunn location-wise, and the ACC is arguably the most prestigious college basketball conference. He’d certainly find a way for immediate playing time and be a focal point in the Tiger offense for years to come.
Georgia Bulldogs
The Bulldogs will need to find a shooting guard in the 2021 recruiting class who’s ready to play immediately since offseason grad transfer pickups Justin Kier and Andrew Garcia will only be around for one season. The team has done a solid job of adding ball-handlers and forwards but a scoring guard is a big priority for the coaching staff.
With an ability to play the off-guard and small forward positions, Dunn could wind up starting for Georgia Basketball as a freshman, surrounded by some good talent if the 2020 Junior College transfers work out. There might not be too much winning early on without additional top-100 commitments but if playing time is a big deal, the Bulldogs have plenty of offer.
