Oklahoma State Cowboys

The Cowboys have the No. 1 freshman point guard in the country for next season in Cade Cunningham, who definitely will be off to the NBA after one season. There’s also a great chance that junior guard Isaac Likekele could go pro as well, which would open things up at the point guard position a year from now.

Outside of four-star freshman guard Rondel Walker, there aren’t any other ball-handlers projected on the 2021-22 roster. Unless a transfer guard comes in, there would be an outside shot for Taylor to get a main rotation spot or even start as a freshman. The scholarship sanctions from the NCAA could play a major factor in who the Cowboys target in the 2021 class, which Taylor could benefit from.

SMU Mustangs

After averaging 14.2 ppg and 6.7 apg as a sophomore last season, Kendric Davis is back for another year in what could very well be his final before going pro. Outside of him, Cal junior transfer Darius McNeil will be eligible and have a rotation spot next season but with the vast majority of the roster being filled with upperclassmen, the Mustangs will need to bring in a future new core of players.

The AAC is a step down from the Big 12 but would be a bit easier place for Taylor to develop as a point guard. Whether Davis comes back for his senior season or not, there would be a clear pathway for this prospect to potentially start as a sophomore.
