Syracuse Orange

Biggest needs: Shooting guard and power forward

With a veteran starting lineup, the Orange will need to have a solid 2021 class, besides top-50 commit wing commit Benny Williams. With five-star point guard Dior Johnson possibly reclassifying to play a year from now, finding a ball-handler isn’t a great need. Adding a true shooter on the roster.

The same goes for the frontcourt, with Marek Dolezaj a senior. Top-50 recruit Arthur Kaluma would be the perfect prize to add to the class, as he could realistically start as a freshman. Adding another center to replace Bourama Sidibe also is a potential need if freshman Frank Anselem isn’t the answer.

Virginia Cavaliers

Biggest needs: Power forward and center

While the perimeter players get a ton of attention at Virginia, the key to their stout defense lies in the stellar play of the big men. With Jay Huff and Marquette transfer Sam Hauser both seniors, the team will have to add in the 2021 class. They have international commit Taine Murray as their first commit and is currently a finalist for five-star shooting guard Trevor Keels.

Head coach Tony Bennett seems to be swinging for the fence, looking to add top-50 prospects. Efton Reid is one, along with power forward prospects Trey Kaufman and DaRon Holmes II. The Cavaliers have become a powerhouse program in the past five years and is looking to see that with some major recruiting wins, even against the likes of Duke and UNC.
