Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Biggest needs: Point guard and center

With just junior Prentiss Hubbs as the lone true point guard on the roster, the Irish will have to find a ball-handler in the 2021 class no matter what. And even though they don’t need another shooting guard, four-star and top-100 target Blake Wesley would be an upgrade over what they have on the roster.

Adding another center to replace Juwan Durham would be helpful, although freshman Matt Zona could be the future starter at that position. With wing Doug Konieczny, Jr. already part of the 2021 class, Notre Dame will need to add depth both at the point guard and center spots. If they can do that, they’ll be fine.

Pittsburgh Panthers

Biggest needs: Point guard, shooting guard and center

After losing five-star and class of 2022 commit Jalen Hood-Schifino this offseason, Pittsburgh will have to find another ball-handler to replace starter Xavier Johnson, who’ll leave after this or next season. And even with mid-major transfers Nike Sibande and Ithiel Horton on the roster, the team has to find some young shooters to help the offense finally get out of the 300s statistically.

And while the Panthers did well in the 2020 class when it comes to adding frontcourt talent such as top-100 big man John Hugley, they still need to add to have some real depth to compete in the ACC. They’re in the running for Franck Kepnang, Efton Reid, and Mac Etienne. Land one of them would be a massive get for the program’s continuing rebuilding process.
