Grambling State Tigers

Since the 2016-17 campaign, the Tigers have finished in the top-4 of the conference standings and were regular-season SWAC Champions in 2017-18. The appointment of head coach Donte Jackson has not resulted in any drop-off for the program in the last several years. However, the commitment of Alexander would signal a whole new level of potential for Grambling.

The Tigers have not been able to sign more than one 3-star prospect in their school’s history, so adding the top-50 Alexander would be a big boost to the program. His on-court talents would instantly push him into the starting lineup and give him a chance to pour in double-digit averages in his first season on campus.

Grambling has not been able to consistently find a third double-digit scoring option in the last five years to elevate their ceiling, but could very well see that come to fruition in 2021.

Alexander would undoubtedly have priority within the Grambling offense and his ability to consistently knock down shots from the perimeter would greatly improve the team’s biggest weakness from last season. The top talents on the Tigers roster are heavy with upperclassmen, so the likelihood that the Oklahoma City native will need to be much more than a scoring threat is very evident.

The team heads into 2020 without a player averaging more than 2.5 assists per game and opens the door for Alexander to put his full repertoire of skills on the floor. He has the natural ability to elevate the play of others around him and this is the perfect opportunity to showcase that.
