Shooting guards

SG1 – Devon Daniels

Daniels the fourth leading scorer from last year’s team and one of the three seniors on the Wolfpack. Daniels averaged 12 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal on 47% from the field and 32% from three-point range. With C.J. Bryce and Markell Johnson gone, Daniels is going to be the main scoring threat in the backcourt for Coach Keatts.

Daniels is a guy who can fill the basket up in a number of different ways. He can hit the three-point shot, he has a good stroke from midrange and has a very good layup package. Daniels has good athleticism as well, which allows him to defend well. Daniels should be one of the top leading scorers in the ACC this year and be the best player on a Wolfpack team with high hopes coming into this season.

SG2 – Thomas Allen

Allen, the transfer from Nebraska sat out all of last year due to NCAA transfer rules, averaged eight points, two assists, and two rebounds on 43% shooting in his sophomore year. Allen is a guy who’s is going to be looked on to do multiple things in NC State’s 1-4 high side pick and roll offense.

He’s going to be able to shoot the ball off the wing, as he shot a 35% clip from three in his sophomore year at Nebraska. Allen could also be playing point guard in the offense as State relies on multiple ball handlers in their offense.
