Tar Heels . . team. 441. . .

Even though it’s all the way across the country, the UNC Tar Heels will always have everyone’s attention. Coach Roy Williams has been one of the best pure developers of talent in NCAA Basketball, sending numerous players to the NBA after 3-4 year college careers.

Last season was an anomaly in terms of how disappointing it was but things should look back to normal for North Carolina. Five-star freshman guard Caleb Love will be leading the way, behind a frontcourt loaded with elite depth and star-power.

There are other freshman guards on the roster, including four-star redshirt freshman Anthony Harris Jr., along with top-50 true freshman combo guard RJ Davis. Four-star shooting guard  D’Marco Dunn is part of the 2021 class, along with another quality frontcourt player in top-50  Dontrez Styles.

One thing to watch in this 2021 class is the recruitment of top-10 overall combo guard prospect Hunter Sallis. It’s been viewed as between the Tar Heels and Kentucky Wildcats for his services. UNC hopes to land him as the eventual replacement for Love if he’s “one and done”. And if things go even better, Andrews could replace Sallis at UNC for the following year at point.

Of course, Davis and Harris could still be around and would probably get the edge over a freshman Andrews due to their edge on experience. Of all of the options, the Tar Heels would be the least likely place for this recruit to start. But if he does pick this team, immediate playing time most likely isn’t what he’s looking for most.
