. . . Cardinals . . team. 438

This is a very interesting option because unlike the others on the list, Louisville doesn’t have a projected problem at the lead guard spot. Although Radford grad transfer Carlik Jones will be gone after this season, there still remains sophomore guard David Johnson, and El Ellis, the top-rated JUCO commit in the 2021 class.

Also joining in the 2021 class is three-star guard prospect Bobby Pettiford, Jr. And with new rules, Ellis can be around for three years with the Cardinals instead of two. If that does happen, Andrews could be joining a crowded backcourt for the 2022-23 season.

The one positive is that head coach Chris Mack has shown to use multiple ball-handlers on the court at once, so this certainly can work out if Andrews does come. It also helps that there aren’t any proven shooting guards projected on the roster at this time.

While Louisville may be a step down from the ACC heavyweights, it also represents an opportunity for Andrews to develop and thrive at his own pace, whether he’s in college for one or four years. There also won’t be a looming five-star prospect down the road that could jump over Andrews. It might be crowded right now but the program is a legit option if he’s willing to leave the west coast.
