To remain atop the ACC, the Seminoles have to beat other heavyweights

The Seminoles have the firepower on this 2020-21 roster to remain atop the ACC. The good news for the ACC is that nonconference games will be played. According to ACCSports.com’s Brian Giesinger, an original report from John Rothstein back in September said that the ACC will have non-conference games on the 2020-21 schedule in addition to two conference games in December. How many nonconference games there will be is still a mystery.

The Seminoles, of course, will have to contend with the Duke, Louisville, Virginia, and North Carolina’s of the world once again and they fared well against all of those teams last season. North Carolina ended the 2019-20 season toward the bottom of the conference but should bounce back with a talented 2020 class coming into Chapel Hill.

Florida State has to start strong in conference play to win the ACC crown. Whenever the schedules are released, it will be interesting to see how many ranked opponents they play in the beginning. Having two or three ranked opponents in let’s say the first six games of the conference schedule will be a good marker to test the freshman on the squad.
