5. USC

The USC Trojans are 3-1 to start the early season. They have a dynamic frontcourt with superstar freshman Evan Mobley (16.5 PPG, 8.5 RPG) and his brother Isaiah (9.5 PPG,10.0) RPG. Transfer guard Drew Peterson has also been an important contributor averaging (13.3) PPG and shooting 55% from three.

For the Trojans to have a good season. They will need guards such as Peterson, Tahj Eaddy, and Ethan Anderson to play well. Because of the unknown at guard USC is ranked 5th in the Pac 12 Power Rankings.

6. Arizona

The Arizona Wildcats are the 6th place team in our power rankings. The Wildcats are 2-0 to start this season. The Wildcats were picked 5th in the preseason media poll and are led by transfer James Akinjo. Transfer Jordan Brown is expected to be a major contributor. Brown had 19 points and 15 rebounds in a victory over Grambling. Returners such as Jemarl Baker and Ira Lee are expected to have increased roles.

7. Colorado

The Buffalos picked 7th in the preseason media poll and are 7th in the power rankings have got off to a 2-0 start this season. After losing Tyler Bey to the NBA, McKinley Wright returns to lead the Buffs during his senior season. Wright (22) PPG is off to a great start but will need other teammates to step up if Colorado is looking to push towards the top of the standings.

8. Utah

The Utes are 1-0 this season after defeating the Washington Huskies 76-62. Utah was picked 8th in the preseason media poll. The Utes are led by returner Timmy Allen (17.3) PPG and (7.3) RPG who was a 2nd team All-Pac 12 selection last year. Other players looking to be key contributors are sophomore guard Rylan Jones (9.6) PPG and (4.4) APG and Junior Riley Battin (7.8 PPG, 4.6 RPG. The Utes are 8th right now but are definitely a team to watch out for.
