Wendell Moore – Duke – 6’5, 216 lbs – Sophomore

Stock: Down

After an up-and-down freshman year, Moore flashed enough upside to crack the top 30 on my preseason board. I was betting on the ancillary skills improving to go along with his physical gifts.

But Moore is off to an extremely tough start for Duke this season. He’s been the opposite of impactful, possessing a -11.2 BPM. Offensively, he looks lost and tries to press too much. I wanted to see him shoot more threes, and he has, he’s just not making them. Moore isn’t getting to the rim much and when he does, he’s not converting.

Duke’s bizarre roster and lack of creation have not helped Moore by any means. But Moore seems to be forcing the issue on offense and it’s disappointing to see. There’s plenty of time to turn things around, and I’ll always hold out hope for someone who has his size and athleticism, but at this stage, Moore is just not draftable.
