NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Top-40 wing Gradey Dick releases top 8

Purdue Boilermakers
The Boilermakers have been incredibly reliant on a select number of upperclassmen to buoy their relatively inexperienced roster this season. The quartet of Treivion Williams, Sasha Stefanovic, Eric Hunter, and Aaron Wheeler are the only players keeping this roster from being entirely made up of freshman and sophomores. Narrowing it down even further, Purdue’s roster looks to be well-stocked with guards for the next couple of seasons.
Dick has also made it clear he is mostly concerned with relationships and style of play when looking at his college destination. The depth of Purdue’s backcourt therefore should not be an issue, but rather an opportunity for him to demonstrate his on-court versatility from multiple standpoints. Specifically, the varying skill sets of current Boilermaker guards present a chance for Dick to thrive in a niche not filled by the team’s current crop of players.
Although he’s a proven perimeter threat, Dick has repeatedly shown to be a lethal downhill player. He has a knack for getting to the rim and underneath defenders to create and find better scoring opportunities for himself and his team.
Dick’s physicality and ability to finish through contact in traffic makes him extremely valuable to a program that has struggled to take or find quality looks insider the 3-point line. These assets and contributions to Purdue’s roster would serve to be hugely beneficial to the team’s overall outlook, should he decide to join.
