Arizona State Sun Devils

Despite Final Four aspirations and an elite backcourt, the Sun Devils are currently sitting at 4-3 (1-0) on the season and have lost to any team that has any kind of frontcourt. That was the fear of what would happen once starting forward and top rebounder Romello White transferred out, leaving them with no true big man to play big minutes.

Look for Arizona State to heavily target centers in the transfer market and why not start now? There’s a massive need for Tshiebwe and his skill set would fit nicely. There also isn’t a power forward on the roster that would clog up space inside as Culver did at West Virginia on the current roster for ASU as well. Among the options out west, look for Arizona State to be one that could possibly work.

Illinois Illini

In terms of what Tshiebwe would want to look like if he maximizes his potential, that would be  Kofi Cockburn of Illinois. He’s currently averaging around 17 ppg and 10 rpg as a sophomore and has seen his game develop into a true offensive threat.

Cockburn is likely to go pro this offseason, leaving a gaping hole inside. Coach Brad Underwood would love to slide Tshiebwe, who has a similar style of game playing and may actually be a better interior defender. The transition would be seamless for both sides and the big man would be playing on national TV all the time in the elite Big Ten Conference.
