Michigan State Spartans

The Spartans have had their fair share of ups and downs, in part due to point guard issues but also troubles at who is playing the center position. Former top-40 freshman big man Mady Sissoko is not part of the rotation and there have been several different options used at the five, most of them more for offense rather than defense.

The Spartans already have a great 2021 recruiting class, led by five-star guard Max Christie. They also could be getting No. 1 overall class of 2022 prospect Emoni Bates if he doesn’t go pro and decides to reclassify, along with top-40 center Enoch Boakye as well. If Boakye did opt to stay in the 2022 class, or even if he does join anyway, Michigan State may be a great landing spot for Tshiebwe to start and have an impact on a national title contender.

Seton Hall Pirates

Seeing senior forward Sandro Mamukelashvili elevate into an All-American caliber player has made Seton Hall into a top-tier team in the Big East. He’ll be gone, leaving mainly Ike Obiagu left as the primary returning frontcourt player. The former Florida State Seminole has been okay, averaging around six points and rebounds a game in 22 mpg.

But if the Pirates want to make an upgrade, Tshiebwe would be the right transfer target. He would fit great in Coach Kevin Willard’s system at center on defense and would be a better offensive version of Romaro Gill, who won Big East Defensive Player of the Year a season ago. Tshiebwe and Obiagu can combine for 40 mpg played at center, allowing Seton Hall to have an elite defender inside at all times.
