Defense continues to carry this team

There was never a worry throughout the game that TCU would just explode offensively and pull away. The Horned Frogs had a fantastic effort from Mike Miles and had momentum with the 60 foot shot before the half. Once the second half began, the Horned Frogs went ice cold.

Multiple turnovers and offensive fouls, forced by Baylor. The Horned Frogs ended up with 22 turnovers and 16 fouls. Nine of the 16 fouls were during the first nine minutes of the second half.

Mark Vital offensively, has not quite been what has been the standard. He filled up the stat sheet with nine points, six rebounds, and 5-6 from the free throw line. This game might’ve been his best defensive contest of the season.

After Miles 17 first-half points, he went silent the entire second half. RJ Nembhard was the lone spark on offense and he finished with just 5-14 from the field. Baylor’s defense will win many ball games and is part of why the Bears are highly regarded nationally.

Just how good this defense can be against an elite offense, time will tell. However, to shoot poorly half of the game and make just 31 percent of your threes and win by 18 is impressive. Not many other teams in the country can do that.
