9. Tulane Green Wave

Similar to most of the teams in this range, they beat who they’re expected to but have only been able to squeak by evenly skilled programs. Picked to finish last in the league, Jaylen Forbes and Jordan Walker have put together good offensive production this year, but the AAC overall is just too deep for this team to make significant moves.

8. East Carolina Pirates

Not a traditional basketball powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination, the pirates have a 28-year NCAA Tournament drought (longest in the AAC) and likely to continue. Jayden Gardner has had a strong season to this point putting up about 16 and 7 per game with a handful of double-doubles. If he continues to play at this level some upper-tier upsets are definitely possible.

A lot of these middle of the pack teams have the potential to pull out some surprising wins here and there but haven’t quite been able to put it all together yet. They can compete, but probably won’t be making any deep postseason runs in the near future.
