11. Temple Owls

It may not be surprising to see the Owls round out the bottom tier of the conference. They’ve had a brutal start with cancellations and just can’t seem to get their season going. Picked to finish last in the conference, Temple is near the bottom for just about every major team category through the few amount of games they’ve managed to play.

The good news for Temple is that they have been competitive with SMU the two times they’ve played (losing 79-71 and 79-68 respectively). The bad news for the owls is that they just don’t have enough firepower to win consistently this year.

10. Cincinnati Bearcats

Definitely a victim of their own expectations, Cincy has the talent to make some major moves up the AAC standings in the next few weeks but have a long way to go. They might be one of the more disappointing teams in major college basketball this season, coming off of a regular-season shared conference championship and 20 wins.

With Chris Vogt and Keith Williams both returning after initially declaring for the NBA, the Bearcats had high expectations coming into this year. With a loss to rival Xavier and against a ranked Tennessee team, Cincy has not been able to take advantage of its opportunities yet. A lack of a recruiting class and COVID-19 related opt-outs may explain a bit of the drop but it’s been a disappointing start for Bearcats fans.

The clear bottom of the pack to this point for different reasons, these two teams have just not been able to put much together in the early part of conference play.
