14. Boston College Eagles (3-10, 1-6)

The Eagles are on track to have a miserable overall record for the season, but at least they won’t go winless in the ACC. They beat Miami a couple of weeks ago by 22 points, led by 27 from Rich Kelly and 25 from Jay Heath. They along with fellow Wynston Tabbs have been the bright spots on the perimeter for Boston College. But between inconsistency and poor defense overall, they’ve been unable to gain any traction since the start of the new year.

After their game against Pittsburgh was canceled due to covid issues, the Eagles’ next game, for now, is on Wednesday against Clemson, part of a rough stretch of opponents. This is still a talented team that gives ACC foes a fight (ask Duke) but they look to be destined for another bottom-tier finish in the conference.

13. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (4-8, 1-5)

The Irish ended its four-game losing skid last week against Boston College, led by 21 points from Dane Goodwin, along with double-double efforts from both Juwan Durham and Prentiss Hubb. Before then, they had to play Virginia twice while also going on the road against Virginia Tech and North Carolina, all of which ended with defeats.

The schedule lightens up for the next couple of weeks, including winnable matchups against Miami and Wake Forest. But one thing to watch is whether their six-man rotation starts to get worn down in the next few weeks. The lack of depth for Notre Dame may continue to haunt them, despite the talent of the starting lineup.
