Big 12 Basketball: Oklahoma climbs, Kansas falls in latest power rankings

The Mountaineers were off for two weeks, due to COVID within the program. There was a question as to how West Virginia would play after being sidelined for 14 days. Instead, they were emphatic in their win over Kansas State.
The Mountaineers started off hot, getting out to an early 17-point lead. They also were elite defensively, holding Kansas State to shooting 38 percent from the field and a program-high, 28 forced turnovers. Miles McBride led the scoring for West Virginia with 18 points and five assists.
The Cowboys drop two spots this week. It was not necessarily because of a bad loss, but other better and more consistent performances
West Virginia continues the grueling schedule of the Big 12 with a road trip against No.12 Texas Tech. They will then come back home to play Florida in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.
