6. McKinley Wright – Colorado Buffaloes

McKinley Wright IV is a 6-0, 196-pound senior point guard at Colorado who was actually committed to Dayton but committed to Colorado when Archie Miller left for Indiana.  Wright has gone on to become one of the best players in the Pac-12. He is one of the top-ten scorers in Colorado history and the Buffaloes all-time leader in assists.

Wright is averaging 14.8 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game and has a 2.9 assist to turnover ratio. He’s a shoo-in to be first-team All Pac-12 for the third time and may just wind up as the Pac-12 Player of the Year as well.  What makes Wright so good, is his defensive play.

He is one of the best on-ball defenders in the country and has made a habit out of shutting down the opposition’s top guards. Wright is without question one of the best point guards in the country and is the leading force behind Colorado’s push for the Pac-12 title.

5. Marcus Carr – Minnesota Golden Gophers

The 5th player on my list is Minnesota’s, Marcus Carr. Carr 6’2 195 pound guard is averaging 20.9 points 4.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game this year and has been a huge reason why Minnesota has had a successful season. Carr is a very good scorer off the dribble that has a good burst. He’s improved his quickness from last year and has improved his finishing around the rim from 52% to 56% according to hoop-math.

He is capable of shooting from deep and has a really good pull up but is most comfortable getting slashing towards the rim and getting fouled. Carr is an awesome player and definitely has a shot to be an all-American. But due to his team’s success and the other quality players at his position he would buy my 5th guy.
