4. Cade Cunningham – Oklahoma State Cowboys

Cade Cunningham averages 18.0 points 6.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists are the projected No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA draft and was the conscientious No. 1 recruit coming out of high school.

Listed at 6’8 and 220 pounds, has the ability to see over the top of defenses to pass. He does a really good job changing speeds on ball screens and in transition. He’s very good at creating his own shot and has the ability to take advantage of his size in the post. With his size and defensive IQ, he can guard multiple positions well.

The biggest weakness in his game is his lack of burst but regardless is one of the best players in the country. Even though I think he’s one of the best players I have him 4th in this award which seems and feels low. It was pretty tough for me but I have to go off players who have the best individual season along with team success since that is what I think the award will go down to.

3. Ayo Dosunmu – Illinois Fighting Illini

The 3rd player on my list is Ayo Dosunmu, 6’5 200 pounds from Illinois. He is currently averaging  21.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game. He is a huge reason why Illinois is the 19th team in the country. He put his name in the NBA Draft last year and shocked everyone when he decided to return to college basketball.

Dosunmu has improved as a distributor this year and has really improved his jump shot which was the biggest area NBA people wanted him to improve. He’s gone from a 29% three-point shooter to a 38%. He’s a very good athlete who is good at shooting off the dribble in pick and roll and at creating offense for others. He can grab a rebound and transition and push, he also works pretty hard defensively and does really a solid job.
