15. Texas Longhorns (13-5, 7-4)

The Kansas State Wildcats may be at the bottom of the Big 12 but they’ve been much more competitive as of late. That includes taking Texas to the wire this past week before the Longhorns slipped past with a three-point win. It was much easier on Saturday against TCU, winning by 15 points. Andrew Jones led all scorers with 19 points, while forwards Jericho Sims and Greg Brown combined for 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Texas will be busy this week with three important games, starting Tuesday against the Oklahoma Sooners. They’ll be on the road again on Thursday against Iowa State and come back home for a Saturday matchup versus West Virginia.

14. Creighton Bluejays (16-5, 12-4)

It was the perfect week for Creighton. They first avenged their earlier loss to Georgetown with a 63-48 road victory. The Bluejays then came back home to beat the top team in the Big East in Villanova, 86-70. Marcus Zegarowski led all scorers with 25 points, while Mitch Ballock had 20 on six made three-pointers. Both Damien Jefferson and Denzel Mahoney each produced double-doubles in the win.

Creighton is idle for the upcoming week due to rescheduling and postponements. The next opponents on their schedule are currently DePaul and Xavier.

13. Iowa Hawkeyes (15-6, 9-5)

The week started out rough for Iowa, falling by two points on the road at Indiana. They rebounded with a 13-point victory over Rutgers, before absolutely destroying Michigan State by 30 points.  Joe Wieskamp led all scorers with 21 points, while big man Jack Nunge came off the bench to go for 18 points and 11 rebounds. Luka Garza had just eight points total, the first game under double-digits for the season.

The lone game for the Hawkeyes this week is at Wisconsin, the first of two regular-season matchups between them. It’ll be a nice contrast between an elite offensive vs an elite defensive unit.
