15. Texas Longhorns (14-7, 8-6)

The recent ups and downs continue for the Longhorns. They were able to beat Kansas at home in overtime, before falling on the road at Texas Tech this weekend. The problem has been the lack of shooting by the guards, with the team making just 35% of their field-goal attempts against the Red Raiders.

Texas will have a tough end stretch in the regular season, playing three games on the road next week. Two of them should be winnable, versus Iowa State and TCU. But in between in a rivalry battle at Oklahoma. The Longhorns lost to them by just one point in what was a highly entertaining previous matchup.

14. Kansas Jayhawks (18-8, 12-6)

The Jayhawks lost on the road at Texas in overtime but that can certainly be forgiven, considering what happened on Saturday. An underdog at home for the first time in decades, Kansas took on a Baylor squad coming off a covid pause. The Jayhawks took advantage, keeping it close in the first half before pulling out to a double-digit lead in the second and holding on for a 71-58 big victory. David McCormack led the way with 20 points, while Marcus Garrett had 14 points and Jalen Wilson coming up with 14 rebounds.

An even bigger accomplishment is that the Jayhawks have avoided a pause and any canceled games. Having already finished up its Big 12 schedule, Kansas will entertain UTEP at home before getting ready for the conference tournament.

13. Creighton Bluejays (17-6, 13-5)

After easily beating DePaul by 24 points earlier in the week, the Bluejays went on the road against a Xavier team that was sliding a bit. The slide halted this weekend, with the Musketeers beating Creighton, 77-69. Marcus Zegarowski had 15 points and 10 assists, while Damien Jefferson led the team with 19 points.

Creighton will finish off the regular season with a big matchup on the road at Villanova, looking to complete the rare season sweep. After that will be a home battle against the Butler Bulldogs.
