21. Virginia Cavaliers (17-6, 13-4)

After taking care of business against Miami at home earlier in the week, the Cavaliers game against Louisville became extra important once Florida State fell to Notre Dame earlier on Saturday. With the ACC regular-season title on the line, Virginia was able to get the 68-58 road win, led by 24 points from Sam Hauser.

The Cavs will enter the ACC Tournament as the No. 1 seed and with a bit of positive momentum after the recent three-game losing streak. The late run also may have sealed league Player of the Year honors for Hauser, who finished the regular season with 15.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg.

20. San Diego State Aztecs (20-4, 14-3)

The Aztecs had just one game this week and it was on the road against a tough UNLV team. While other teams in the Mountain West top-tier fell on the road, San Diego State was able to hold onto the 71-62 victory. Matt Mitchell, likely to be awarded Conference Player of the Year, led the team with 19 points.

The Mountain West Regular-Season champions are the lone team in the league sage as an at-large candidate and can afford not to win the conference tournament. If the 1-seed Aztecs do win it this week, they could be the lone bid for the league.

19. Villanova Wildcats (16-5, 11-4)

Regardless of wins and losses, no program had a worse past week than the Wildcats. The first took a bad loss to Butler on Sunday, followed by losing star senior guard Collin Gillespie to a season-ending leg injury in the win over Creighton. Making matters even worse, Villanova’s third-leading scorer Justin Moore got hurt against Providence on Saturday, a game in which they lost 52-50.

Moore may not be able to go in the upcoming Big East Tournament for the Wildcats, where they’ll be a 1 seed. But bubble teams in this league would love to take on this wounded team, whose offense looks nothing like they did a few weeks ago.
