Big 12 Basketball: WVU falls, OK State rises heading into conference tournament

Previous Games: 67-62 win vs. UTEP.
The 2020-2021 season has brought all kinds of bizarre and weirdness. None could get much higher than Kansas scheduling UTEP as their final game of the regular season. Yet in March, UTEP visited Allen Fieldhouse.
When it comes to the game, it could not have been any more bizarre than what the Miners brought to Lawrence. The Jayhawks did not hold a lead for 38 minutes of the contest and were down, as much as, 15 points in the second half.
Yet, it was Kansas that had enough horses in the tank and a great stretch near the end of the game for David McCormack. McCormack would make 11 straight points, including cutting the deficit from nine to one.
He would finish with a double-double, alongside a strong first half from Ocahi Agbaji. Agbaji wasn’t a huge part of the Kansas run to take the lead. However, he did hit a three-pointer to tie the game up, with just 3:39 to go.
He finished with 19 points, 13 of them coming in the first half.
Although it was not the prettiest of games, and a performance Kansas wished to have back, it’s good to have. To come back from down 15 and win, even against an opponent of not much quality.
The Jayhawks will get the winner of Oklahoma-Iowa State in the Big 12 Quarterfinals, starting on Thursday.
