NCAA Tournament 2021: 10 lower-digit seeds capable of pulling an upset
Ohio Bobcats
The Ohio Bobcats will take on Virginia in a 4-13 matchup. Virginia is coming off a disqualification in the ACC tourney due to Covid issues is not even leaving for Indy until Thursday or Friday. You wonder with several players having to quarantine if there is going to be some rust. Jason Preston who not only has an incredible story is the best player on this Ohio Squad and probably will be the best player in the game.
But this Ohio team could really give Virginia some issues stylistically. Ohio is an awesome offensive team ranking 29th in the country in Kenpom. They are 13th in the country in effective field goal percentage and 11th in two-point percentage. Virginia plays a pack-line defense so they want to protect the paint. This Ohio team is gonna spread you out with shooters and run the spread pick and roll with Preston at the point.
But Ohio does struggle at the defensive end, they come into the game with the 174th adjusted defense. Virginia should be able to have success against Ohio and score a pretty good amount of points per possession. With Virginia coming off a Covid pause, Ohio may be having the best player on the court, and Ohio having an offense that could be a rough matchup Ohio could definitely pull the upset.
