NCAA Tournament 2021: 10 lower-digit seeds capable of pulling an upset

The Georgetown Hoyes led by Patrick Ewing has shocked everyone by winning 4 in a row in the conference tournament in order to make it to the big dance. Georgetown has won 8 out of their last 10 games and they face a Colorado squad that lost to Oregon State in the Pac-12 championship game.

Since the start of the conference tournament, the Hoyes has shot up 30 spots in Kenpom. Georgetown could pull the upset against Colorado because the Hoyes is an athletic team that was also the best three-point shooting team in the league at 37.6 percent. Jahvon Blair has been great recently averaging 15.8 points and shooting 42.1 percent on 6 attempts from three. Qudus Wahab has been pretty efficient recently shooting 65.3 percent and scoring 14.3 points per game.

Also, in conference play, Georgetown was the 2nd best offensive rebounding team in the Big East as well. This Colorado team is led by McKinley Wright they are a top 30 offensive and defensive efficiency team in the country. The Buffalo’s are really old as well ranking 30th in the country in experience.

Even though Colorado does a solid job at everything they seem to have a 5 or 10-minute stretch where they get stagnant on offense and don’t shoot the ball well. With the way Georgetown is playing they can hang in there against Colorado and has a chance for the upset.
